Welcome to Wildcard Wednesday - it's Limerick Day!

May 12, 2021

Good morganite, friends!! A very happy Wednesday to you all. It's time to grab your cup of coffee or tea and enjoy some friendly conversation with one another. 😃

Today is Limerick Day, so you never know what might happen....but at least the day will have a lilt to it!! The day honours the birthday of English poet and author Edward Lear, who popularised the limerick form of poetry in his 1846 book called 'A Book of Nonsense'. The term 'limerick' itself is believed to refer to the genre of poetry originating in the Irish city of Limerick. But if you're not really into poetry, please treat the thread as an open topic and feel free to share anything you would like, today. There's no obligation to post images. The only thing we hope you do is enjoy yourself.
