Since time immemorial, our ancestors will have looked to the skies at night and felt equal measures of awe and terror when they saw things like 'falling stars' and comets streaking across the darkness. The moon will have been a beacon and helped give rise to the understanding of the consistent passing of time and the seasons. As time has passed and technology has allowed us to look beyond our own planet, and then beyond our solar system, many mysteries about what's 'out there' still remain! Today, as the occasion marks the anniversary of the first moon landing, let's see interesting things about our closest companion and the space missions that ultimately got humans there, but also have a bit of fun with speculating about what may lie beyond, including classic sci-fi scenes, and of course our favourite 'spaced out' cartoon moments!! 🤔🌜🌠🪐☄️🌌📡🛰️✨🚀👨‍🚀👩‍🚀🤩😉😄😺 There's no obligation to post images. Today, we're not just allowed to, but are actually being encouraged to stick out our tongues....which is something that will also help us to enjoy our ice cream!! 😛🍦 For a bit of background on how these 'special day' themes came about, the origin of Stick Out Your Tongue Day is unknown, but a fun bit of tongue-poke trivia is that it's considered a polite greeting by the people of Tibet!! It's thanks to a proclamation by President Ronald Reagan on July 15, 1984, that we have Ice Cream Sunday! It was only supposed to have been for that year, but the ice cream industry decided to keep it going on the third Sunday of each July. So, let's see lots of very cheeky critters poking their tongues, and enough delicious serves of ice cream to give us all brain freeze!! 😛🤭🍨😋😯😉🤣😺 There's no obligation to post images.
