It is the day that honours the French government in 1839 buying the patent to the 'daguerreotype' and gifting the process of photography to the world, so it's also our chance to pay tribute to those who do their best to capture and record all aspects of the world around us, whether professional photographers or just keen amateurs, including anyone with a camera or simply a mobile phone who has managed to take an impromptu snap of something they think is shareworthy!
