Welcome to a Cetacean Sunday - it's World Whale Day!

February 18, 2024

Good morganite, friends! A very happy Sunday to you all. It's time to grab your cup of coffee or tea, and enjoy some friendly conversation with one another. ๐Ÿ˜€

"The annual day, World Whale Day, was founded in Maui, Hawaii in 1980 to honour humpback whales, which swim off the coast of this tropical island. This day was started as an idea by Greg Kauffman, founder of the Pacific Whale Foundation, to raise awareness about the threat of extinction faced by humpback whales." So, the third Sunday in February was designated World Whale Day back in 1980, and although it may have started with the Hawaii humpbacks, it has come to encompass all the world's whale species. The day may be focussed on the whales of the world, but there are many other magnificent creatures of the marine realm, so all aquatic animals are welcome here, today! ๐Ÿณ๐Ÿ‹๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿฆˆ๐Ÿฆญ๐Ÿ ๐Ÿ˜บ There's no obligation to post images. The only thing we hope you do is have fun.
